The next day, the Scout Regiment embarks on its 23rd Exterior Scouting Mission. Levi objects to Furlan and Isabel participating in the scouting mission, but the two insist that they would rather leave the walls with him than return to the Underground, and convince him to allow them to participate. Reconvening with his comrades, Furlan theorizes that Erwin is carrying the documents on his person at all times to ensure their safety, and suggests forcibly taking the documents and killing him during a scouting mission. However, Erwin arrives before he can find anything, and he is forced to give up his search. While Levi and Isabel act as lookouts, Furlan tries to infiltrate Erwin's office and steal the incriminating documents he has on Lovof. Flagon and Levi quickly begin to grate on each other's nerves, and Furlan is forced to step in as a mediator between them to stop a fight from breaking out while Flagon is showing them to their rooms. A Choice with No Regrets: Part Twoįurlan and his comrades are formally introduced to the rest of the Scout Regiment and assigned to Flagon's squad. Impressed, Erwin offers them a chance to join the Scout Regiment and Levi begrudgingly accepts on their behalf. It is only after Miche Zacharius begins physically harassing Levi that Furlan acquiesces and explains that they are self taught. Erwin begins questioning them about their skill with ODM gear, but the three refuse to talk. The two are brought by their captors to Erwin, who has also detained Levi. Levi orders them to split up to try to avoid capture, but Furlan and Isabel are both swiftly detained. They are initially accosted by members of the Military Police, but as the gang flees they are suddenly set upon by members of the Scout Regiment. In order to attract the attention of the scouts, the trio make use of their ODM gear to pull off a heist. The three were later contacted by Nicholas Lovof, who offered them the chance to leave the Underground and live above ground if they infiltrate the Scout Regiment and kill Erwin Smith.įurlan and his friends enter the Scout Regiment After treating her injuries, Furlan and Levi agreed to allow Isabel to join their gang and began training her to use omni-directional mobility gear. Seeing that she was being pursued, Furlan and Levi stood up for her to her attackers, chasing them off with ease. Then Furlan's explanation was interrupted by the arrival of a young girl at their hideout's doorstep. Noticing this, Levi requested to know why Furlan had been giving Yan preferential treatment. Knowing that Yan was suffering from a leg injury and would need extra money to afford medicine, Furlan gave Yan a larger cut compared to everyone else's. Īfter one of many heists pulled with Levi's gang, Furlan was placed in charge of dividing the profits from the job among his comrades. Furlan's plan was to see if Levi was worth recruiting into his group of thugs or not, and he was surprised to see Levi beat them all single-handedly. At one point, Furlan decided to test Levi's strength by having him fight a group of thugs. Prior to the fall of Wall Maria, Furlan was a delinquent roaming the capital's Underground District. Furlan placed a great deal of trust in Levi and followed his decisions and leadership without question. He had a clear understanding of when he was defeated, and stopped resisting if he knew that he had lost this was shown during his capture by the Scout Regiment. Like Levi, Furlan was usually depicted as level-headed and calm, but he disliked when things got out of control. Before he joined the Scout Regiment, Furlan's civilian clothes featured a simple long-sleeve white shirt with a light blue vest and knee-high boots.įurlan, in contrast to Isabel, was very focused and able to make the distinction between when to have fun and when to be serious. His bangs hung over his forehead in between his eyes. Furlan was a young man of average height with light gray eyes and dark blond hair.
